Source / Receiving Inspector - Field Support (Aerospace) - Davenport/Cedar Rapids, IA

(Contract, Full Time)

As a Source Inspector Field Support, you are responsible for performing the final and source Inspection of mechanical / machined parts and components directly at the manufacturer/supplier facility 

Job Description: 

Electrical

  • Verifies completed product to purchase order, drawing and associated specifications. Ability to adequately inspect Aerospace level electronic components and assemblies.  Includes CCA or PWB for industry specifications such as J-STD-001 and IPC 610.

Mechanical / Other

  • Verifies completed product to purchase order, drawing and associated specifications. Ability to adequately inspect Aerospace level mechanical components and assemblies including welded and machined parts for compliance with industry and LM specifications.  Knowledge of standard inspection tools to include CMMs is required.  Previous machine shop experience, final inspections and Aerospace products.

NDT and Special Process

  • Verifies completed product to purchase order, drawing and associated specifications with respect to Non-Destructive Testing and Special Processes (e.g. Heat Treat, Aluminum Aging, Shot Peen, Anodize/Alodine, Prime/Paint, Cleaning Methods, etc.) application/conformance. Ability to review overall inspection process for compliance to NAS410 and other applicable specifications and standards.  May require prior level II or level III NDT Inspection Certification.  Must have demonstrable understanding of non-destruction inspection and special process applications for Aerospace manufacture.

Required Skills: 

  • Minimum 5+ years aerospace experience
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, or forming parts (F-16, C-130 familiarity is a plus).
  • Candidate must possess at a minimum the ability to effectively read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and the use of SME (Standard Measuring Equipment)
  • Strong working knowledge of assembly manufacturing and acceptance testing procedures
  • Ability to execute an FAI (First Article Inspection) and basic understanding of AS9100.
  • Good communication skills, reliable and self-motivated with the ability to confidently work independently with minimal supervision.
